The 88th Infantry Division was in service during WWI, WWII, and the Cold War. During WWII, the 88th Division served in the Rome-Arno, North Appenines, and Po Valley campaigns, and by the end of the war had accumulated 344 days in combat. As part of the U.S. 5th Army under LTG Mark Clark, the 88th was one of the first all-draftee units to enter the war.
