Malhon Shoemake
WWII | Company H, 306th Infantry Regiment, 77th Infantry Division
Malhon Shoemake's first beachhead was Guam and after a long wade into shore, he saw the terrible devastation of war. The deaths of women and children were difficult to bear. He soon learned the tricks of the enemy, who liked to fight at night and sneak into your foxhole. (This interview made possible with the support of COL ROBERT W. RUST, USMCR (ret.) in honor of LtGen Lawrence Snowden & LtGen George Christmas.) (5:00)
